Mr. Dykes has been awarded advanced certification
as Master Appraiser in the fields of art and
antiques and residential contents appraisals,
as well as in-plant equipment and machinery
evaluations, awarded after participating in
extensive course completion and testing.
Mr. Dykes is certified and accredited as
a qualified personal property appraiser, and
has been awarded advanced certification in
the fields of antiques and residential contents
appraisals, as well as in-plant equipment
and machinery evaluations, awarded after participating
in extensive course completion and testing.
The appraiser has performed by court order
as personal property appraiser for the Family
Court in the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit of
South Carolina, as well as for Binding Arbitration
in the City of Savannah, Georgia. He conducts
a significant volume of estate, divorce and
insurance appraisals of personal property
items each year for members of the legal profession,
insurance companies, bank trust officers,
private individuals and the courts, and has
testified as an expert witness in the area
of personal property and antiques appraisals
in the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit of South
Carolina, and as an expert in dozens of other
cases which settled before or during trial.
The appraiser participates in the ongoing
continuing education program for personal
property appraisers through the Graduate Personal
Property Appraiser program administered by
the National Auctioneers Association Education
Institute as coordinated through the University
of Indiana. He is one of only a very small
percentage of auctioneers in the United States
to have been awarded the designation GPPA
as a certified personal property appraiser.
The appraiser is further a Certified Estate
Specialist, said designation awarded through
the National Auctioneers Association Education
Institute, coordinated through the University
of Indiana, having completed extensive courses
conducted by ASA and ISA instructors, and
testing in the fields of Estate Management,
Sales and Distribution.
The appraiser has owned and administered
a wholesale antiques business, supplying English
and European antiques and collectibles to
the trade in the United States; he has owned
a retail antiques and collectibles store,
Carriage House Antiques, located at 37th Street
and Abercorn Street in Savannah, Georgia.
The appraiser is an auctioneer licensed in
the state of Georgia. While active as an auctioneer,
he conducted more than three hundred fifty
individual auctions and sold at auction more
than $1,500,000.00 per year in personal property
merchandise. Mr. Dykes buys and sells at numerous
auctions in England, Wales, and throughout
the eastern United States, and has functioned
as an importing and marketing consultant to
antique store and mall operations in Georgia,
South Carolina, Maryland, Texas, Illinois
and Utah.
